Waste Management and Recycling Officer

ESTABLISHED COMPANY SEEKS EXPERIENCE IN ANY OF THE FOLLOWING: WASTE MANAGEMENT OPERATIONS, RECYCLING, QUARRYING, WATER, ENVIRONMENT AGENCY, ISO AUDITING, FACILITIES MANAGEMENT, ENVIRONMENTAL COMPLIANCE, SHEQ, HEALTH AND SAFETY.

Role: Waste Management and Recycling Officer

Package: 20-23K depending on experience, Vehicle and Fuel Card, Good Pension, Discounts, Share Scheme

Location: People from the following areas will be considered:

Penrith, Carlisle, Workington, Dumfries and the surrounding area

Client:

A major waste management and recycling player is looking for a Waste Management and Recycling Officer to join a growing division with the opportunity for development and progression.

You may have had experience with:

Environmental Compliance, ISO 9001, 14001, 18001 auditor or implementation, Carbon Reduction Commitment Reporting, Environment Agency, Environmental Science Degree Graduate, Permitting, HWRC Carbon Management and Sustainability, Facilities Management, SHEQ, Health and Safety, Waste Management or Recycling, Chemical Field Sampling, Quarrying, Water, Energy from Waste, Anaerobic Digestion, Landfill.

Your previous job may have been: Waste Officer, HWRC Recycling Site Supervisor,

Duties

You will visit around a dozen waste management and recycling sites ensuring:

Contractual compliance is being observed
Equipment and site are being maintained
Appropriate safety and environmental compliance measure are in place

You will also be involved in planning

This role would suit someone that enjoys a mix of office and hands on site based work

Experience

We are looking for the type of person that has some form of experience with site auditing or environmental compliance. Waste management experience either office of site based is a plus but there are a range of roles that may have transferable skills and additional training and development will be provided for the right candidate.

Qualifications (Desirable but not essential)

Environmental Science Degree or Masters (Graduates will be considered)

ISO 9001 Auditing or Implementation

ISO 14001 Auditing or Implementation

ISO 18001 Auditing or Implementation

IOSH / NEBOSH

COTC

Full UK Driving License Essential

Any pertaining to commonly used IT systems such as Microsoft Office or Databases
