Rotating Shift 6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm Mon-Fri (Flexibility will be required)

Skillection are on the hunt for a fab Warehouse Operative for their growing manufacturing client in Huddersfield.

The successful candidate will ensure that materials and products are managed in a safe and efficient way and in line with all appropriate quality standards, and to keep production supplied and the warehouse facilities running efficiently through effective shipping and receiving to inventory, paperwork, forklift operation and checking for damaged goods.

THE ROLE

• To work to the right quality and health and safety standards
• To escalate to a supervisor when it looks as though a problem might be developing
• To take part in improvement activities
• To behave in a manner that is safe and that promotes good manufacturing practice and to process products in a safe and efficient way including:
• Receive goods at the loading/receiving area
• Ability to work using controlled documents and completion of relevant data
• Store received goods in the appropriate locations within the warehouse
• Check loads for damaged or missing items upon receipt
• Move and rearrange stock, either by hand or with appropriate lifting equipment
• Ensuring accurate records of everything that comes in and goes out of the warehouse
• Organise, clean and protect to ensure that goods don’t get damaged
• To make the absolute most of limited space, warehouse operatives must find ways to
• Organise for maximum space saving.
• Load goods onto trucks for shipping
• To assist in training new employees
• Ability to work within a team

NECESSARY REQUIREMENTS

• To understand and comply to all safety rules
• To understand and comply to all quality and safety rules
• Forklift experience knowing how to safely operate a Counterbalance and Reach forklift truck
• Good IT Skills (Excel, Outlook and Word) for data entry and inventory.
• Ability to organise for maximum efficiency.
• Self-starter with a high level of energy.
• To understand TPM and improvement processes

DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS

• To take part in the Health and Safety Committee or other representation roles as and when required.
