Warehouse Operative

Capital Outsourcing Group Ltd are specialists in the supply of secretarial, office and industrial staff in permanent, temporary and contract positions.
Currently seeking Warehouse Operatives to join our team to work with Sainsbury’s Wincanton at their 550,000 sq. ft. multi temperature Distribution Centre in Sherburn in Elmet in the Leeds area.

As a Warehouse Operative, you will have the ability to work alone or as part of a team within a warehouse environment. Previous experience in a warehouse would be welcomed, but is not necessary as all candidates are given fantastic training on all equipment and the role and ongoing mentoring and coaching. Although full training will be given applicants should be confident, self-motivated, hardworking, enthusiastic, reliable and able to work effectively as part of a team.
Shifts:
• 16-00 or 18-02 working in the produce
Pay:
• £26,000 per year, however reduces to £7.20 if targets are not met
The Site and Working environment:
• The site operates 24/7 days a week and you will be required to work any 5 days out of 7, therefore you must be able to work weekends and flexibility around start/finish times is required at times.

• This is a temporary position, however should a candidate demonstrate the right attributes, permanent opportunities may be available
• Temperature controlled environment (the temperature in Chill chamber is +1°C).
• Distribution Centre is a non-smoking site therefore there’s no possibility to smoke during your break.
• As the site is located in Sherburn in Elmet you would need to be able to get there yourself, so please bear this in mind when applying. Own transport or method of transportation is ideal.
• The majority of roles available within the warehouse will require you to have a fairly good level of fitness, there can be lot of walking involved, so if you are keen to maintain your fitness in an active role, improve your fitness or just enjoy walking, then this could be the role for you.

The Role:
• Reporting to the Warehouse Team Manager.
• To carry out any duty assigned to enable the smooth and efficient movement of stock from goods in to goods out
• To ensure timely preparation of store orders to the highest standard of quality, hygiene and accuracy
• To ensure duties are carried out effectively, accurately and safely providing a high standard of service to the customer
• Be responsible for achieving operational targets, goals and contractual KPI’s for the purpose of ensuring the provision of an effective and efficient quality service to stores.
• Assist in all areas of the warehouse and work in a flexible team based approach
• Ensure products sent to stores are presented correctly and safely
• Carry out duties avoiding stock damage
• Undertake such duties as may be reasonably required for the effective operation of the function and department
• The roles are performance related and you will have daily and weekly targets that you will be expected to achieve
The Ideal Candidate:
• Experience of working within a warehouse environment.
• Ability to work on your own initiative, working to strict deadlines
• Paying attention to detail to ensure documentation / deliveries are correct and error free
• To be responsible for the health and safety of themselves and other colleagues by adhering to safe working practices
• Must be adaptable to assist in all areas of the warehouse with a flexible team based approach
• Must be punctual, reliable and committed to achieve daily and weekly KPI’s
• Good English in order to communicate with their colleagues
• Literacy and numeracy skills and have own transport
