Position: Warehouse Operations Manager

Salary: £38,277

Working Hours: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday (12:00 to 22:00) & Wednesday (09:00 to 19:00) – 40 hours per week

Join Heron Foods as a Warehouse Operations Manager and become a key player in our warehouse management team. This role is pivotal in managing a team to ensure the efficient operation of our warehouse, focusing on delivering stock to all stores and maximising business productivity.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Oversee Warehouse Supervisors to ensure the smooth operation of the picking process across all chambers.
  • Assume full site operational responsibility in the absence of Warehouse Managers.
  • Serve as the primary contact for all operational incidents and the escalation point for relevant business stakeholders.
  • Regularly brief, supervise, train, and appraise employees, ensuring high standards and compliance with health and safety legislation.
  • Manage pick figures, analyse variances, monitor KPIs, and manage performance issues.
  • Plan rotas and arrange staffing for shifts.
  • Work with HR for investigations, welfare checks, performance management, disciplinary, and capability meetings.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience managing in a fast-paced warehouse operation.
  • Extensive people management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Capability to work in varied temperatures, including -25°C chambers, with appropriate PPE provided.
