Support Worker – Waking Nights
Location – Birmingham
Salary: £26,000

My Clients are a West Midlands based provider of quality children’s residential homes. They provide supportive and therapeutic care to vulnerable and challenging children and young people. Offering packages to meet the individuals need in an effort to promote and enhance personal development in the young people. They actively encourage independence and personal responsibility within a safe and homely environment. The children here may have suffered previous placement breakdowns or may have been referred from local authority secure accommodation on psychiatric facilities. The staff team are highly trained to support the various needs of the children and receive ongoing training and guidance to allow then you work within policy and best practice.

They are currently recruiting for a support worker to join the team covering a waking night shift.

You will be responsible for the core support worker role
• Able to deal positively with challenging or negative behaviour you will provide effective positive guidance
• Confident to challenge negative and disruptive behaviours and find positive solutions
• Maintaining care plans
• Build trust through developing an understanding of the child’s needs, interests and hobbies
• Encourage independence and personal development through teaching life skills and praise and encouragement
• Personal care
• Provide support as a key worker
• Work closely with colleagues in providing high levels of care
• Taking young people to appointments and outings
• Risk assessments
• Maintain good administrational practices
• General house keeping and domestic chores as required

Successful applicants will receive a Salary: £26,000per hour depending on experience, generous overtime, on going training.

The recruitment process aims to create and maintain a safe workforce and contains robust vetting procedures. The successful applicant will be appointed subject to references and an enhanced DBS check.
