As a Visual Designer you will be joining a leading digital property platform within the UK that operates its own websites, as well as exclusively powering property searches on some of the UK’s biggest sites. Since their launch in 2008, the company has gone from strength to strength, winning awards, obtaining investment and now attracting over 20 million visitors per month to its website. The Visual Designer will therefore need experience of designing for complex, data-heavy sites and be able to simplify information.

The ideal Visual Designer will play a key role in evolving the visual experience of the company’s portfolio of websites. You will need to create designs that grow user engagement. A main focus will be driving innovation in presenting data to customers (data visualisation/infographics), and helping them to create meaning out of data.

Key Responsibilities:

•Collaborating with internal teams to deliver high quality visual designs, taking the designs from concept to execution across different devices and media
•Managing and developing a consistent design language to guide the look and feel of the company’s portfolio of products
•Managing the identity of several company brands’ digital identities, designing within existing guidelines, and evolving these designs as required
•Leading on the presentation of options for design treatments, and selling the idea to internal stakeholders

Essential Skills:

•Educated to degree level in a relevant subject or equivalent experience
•A minimum of 4 years’ experience in a creative / visual designer role
•Excellent experience with common graphics and web design tools with an understanding of Photoshop/Illustrator
•Good working knowledge of HTML for building websites and emails
•Ability to use visual design (including layout, typography and colour) to organise information and guide customers through tasks
•Experience of working with user experience designers and front-end developers

Candidates with experience of mobile design would be highly desirable. If you also have experience in the e-commerce or property sector that would be advantageous.
