Vehicle Maintenance Technician – To cover Coryton & Cranbrook
Salary c£44k pa, DOE, London Weighting allowance, if eligible and excellent benefits

Calor Gas are looking to recruit a proactive and engaging Vehicle Maintenance Technician to cover both our Coryton and Cranbrook sites.
Based from Cranbrook and equipped with a van and tools, you will be required to carry out maintenance, repairs and modification work on our fleet of vehicles and trailers and provide technical support, from fault analysis through to completion.
You need to be able to produce technical work to the highest standards and in line with strict Health & Safety requirements for equipment, machines and tools. It calls for initiative, a meticulous approach and an in-depth knowledge of vehicles, trailers, workshop plant and equipment. You must also have the organisational skills to maintain clear documentation, records and to meet deadlines.
Your responsibilities:
- Carry out general maintenance repair work on the company’s fleet of vehicles and trailers between our Coryton and Cranbrook sites.
- Ensure all vehicles are in safe working order.
- Carry out all repairs to the highest standards.
- Carry out in-depth engineering work and diagnostics.
- Be able to operate individually or within a close team.
- Carry out all repairs in accordance with current Health and Safety legislation and company policy.
- Operate all relevant equipment, machines and tools safely.
- Complete associated documentation
We would like you to:
- Be educated to City & Guilds standard in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent engineering discipline is essential.
- Have experience as an HGV Mechanic working within a similar position.
- Holding an HGV C+E licence Class 1 and a current ADR is preferred but not essential.
- Demonstrate strong working knowledge of vehicles, trailers, workshop plant and equipment.
- Can resolve mechanical / electrical / pneumatic problems.
- Ability to multitask and achieve key deadlines.
- Demonstrate rigorous fault-finding skills.
- Able to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
- Demonstrate good communication skills.
- Be able to work under pressure.

Please note – The site works on a 3 week rotating shift, which is inclusive of a week of late’s and an on call element. You must be able to accommodate this style of shift pattern.
Initial training will take place at the Calor Coryton site.
