UX Researcher

Salary: £30,000 – £42,000 per year

My client is experiencing a significant increase in bookings due to a huge surge in demand for UK holidays.

As such they are undergoing one of our biggest periods of growth to date and are actively seeking the best and brightest local talent to join them in their journey to connect 3 million happy holidaymakers with 35,000-holiday homes by 2023!

What started as a small family-run company has now grown to be a 900 strong workforce of ambitious, passionate professionals spread across the UK, Ireland and New Zealand at a growing number of Regional Sister Brands and at our Chester head office.

Amongst the ongoing growth, my client is now seeking their newest UX Researcher to join their rapidly expanding UX team at the Chester head office.

Working within their wider Product department, the new UX Researcher will focus on improving one of their many exciting products, helping people across the business get closer to the user, providing greater visibility of their wants, needs and behaviours.

This is an incredibly exciting time to be joining the UX team as the business continues to invest heavily in the team and wider Product department, including an increased focus on both the accessibility and usability of our user experiences.

Position: UX Researcher

Location: Hybrid Working with a mixture of remote and office (CHESTER) working available and will be discussed at interview

Skills Required:

• Proven experience working or studying in a similar role.
• Knowledge of multiple research methods and how to apply them.
• Experience using research and insight tools such as UserZoom, ContentSquare, or similar.
• Ability to work with both qualitative and quantitative data.
• Familiar with statistical concepts such as sample size and margin of error.
• Ability to articulate research findings to stakeholders across the business.
• Clear communicator that can tell a good story.
• Comfortable collaborating with multiple people across differing skill sets.
• Open to challenges and finding new ways of approaching problems.
• Experience driving research insights into design solutions.

Nice to have:

• Bachelor or Master’s in Cognitive Science, Human-Computer Interaction, or similar.
• Understanding of human biases or behaviours and how they can influence people.
• Understanding of Lean and Agile ways of working in multi-disciplinary squads.
• Understanding of A/B testing and experimentation.
• Awareness of design and prototyping tools such as Moqups, Sketch, Framer, or similar.

Key Responsibilities

As the newest UX Researcher, you will be reporting into the Lead UX Researcher and will be accountable for the following areas of responsibility:
• Conducting research studies to better understand user needs and behaviours.
• Using multiple methods and techniques to generate research insights.
• Connecting stakeholders with the users of the product.
• Defining and uncovering the right problems through relevant questioning.
• Working with stakeholders to gather and understand research requirements.
• Sharing and articulating research insights with stakeholders.
• Planning work across all phases of research using a structured approach.
• Collaborating with designers to turn research insights into design solutions.
• Working with designers to understand if solutions are fit for purpose.
• Collaborating with data analysts to share insights and improve visibility of research.
• Supporting other researchers with larger business projects.
• Taking ownership of key objectives including personal growth & development.
• Reviewing research generated by others to ensure consistency and quality.

Salary: 35-45k Pounds per annum
