Trunk Class 1 Driver

DX provides proven next day delivery services for mail, parcels and 2-Man deliveries to business and residential addresses nationwide, for both public and private sector companies. In particular, DX specialises in next day or scheduled delivery of time sensitive, mission critical and high value items for B2B and B2C customers

We are looking for a Class 1 Night Trunk driver to join our busy depot, responsibilities will include;

Driving
Check security seal on trailer prior to departure.
Drive vehicles in a safe and legal manner ensuring compliance with all legal requirements.
Ensure that consideration is given to the public and the customer when making a delivery.
Ensure all daily checks are undertaken ensuring defects are immediately reported and associated paperwork completed.
Complete all necessary paperwork on time and in full.
Ensure all deliveries are loaded and secure before leaving depot.
Undertake a pre/debrief ensuring all information is relayed to the traffic office
Check all returns and collections are made and are correct.
Assist in the loading of vehicles as and when required.
To be respectful to other road users and members of the public ensuring the reputation of the business is protected at all times.
Observe Company rules and procedures as defined in the Driver?s Handbook and other Company Policies and Procedures.
Ensure the correct equipment and methods are utilised for the safe handling of stock.
Ensure the security of stock and company assets by reporting any suspicious activity to your line manager or the securities team.
Ensure that all personal protective equipment (PPE) used is in good order and is utilised as instructed

Skills Required:
Working knowledge of Driving regulations and the Working Time Directive
Deals with issues at the point of delivery
CPC training or part trained
C+E Driving licence
Must hold the relevant licence for the class of vehicle
Good geographical knowledge
