Travel Consultant

Salary: £26,000 – £27,000 per year

We have an exciting new role within the Travel industry for a Travel Consultant to work within an established and award-winning travel company East of York, not far from Haxby/Malton.

The primary aim of the position of Travel Consultant is to deliver the best possible service to customers throughout their journey. Working within the Sales and Customer Services team, you will be dealing with all general queries and be responsible for communicating any operational issues to customers.

This is varied role that combines customer service as well as advising customers which holidays are best suited to them and involves the following:

• Responding to quotes and sales enquiries and following up quotes
• Managing customers’ expectations by ensuring they are clear about what to expect during the reservation and confirmation process.
• Switching customers to alternative holidays if their first holiday choice is not possible
• Keeping customers informed about the progress of their bookings and advise them once confirmed.
• Booking any outstanding elements of the holiday if needed before sending confirmation.

• Maintaining accurate records of all queries to provide customers with continuity, communicating any operational issues to customers as well as dealing with any issues that arise whilst customers are on holiday

The successful Travel Consultant will receive full training and will have the following:

• Good communication skills with a strong and confident telephone manner
• Flexible ‘can do’ attitude and ability to work in a fast-paced work environment with a keen eye for detail
• IT literate with good written skills (it will be helpful if you have office based/admin. experience but this is not essential)
• Own transport

In return you will receive:

Salary: £26,000 – £27,000per year– depending upon experience
