Transport Supervisor Parcels
Herts
£32k depending on experience
The company
Member of established independent parcel delivery network, experiencing continued growth, specialising in parcel solutions for SMEs, with overnight, timed, trackable next day deliveries.
The Role
Reporting to the Service Director, this is a new vacancy, managing a small number of mainly self employed C&D drivers in Herts and Bedford
Key responsibilities
* Route planning
* Driver compliance and debriefing
* KPI management
* Client liaison and customer service
* Ensure on time, secure collections and deliveries
* Managing the afternoon collections operations
* Monitor completed deliveries, especially vulnerable parcels
* Operational procedures compliance
* Overseeing sortation processes for parcels leaving the warehouse
* Managing budgets and actively seeking to improve efficiency
* Resolve queries from other depots
* Maintenance of vehicles and warehouse equipment
* Recruitment, induction and training of new staff
The successful candidate
* Ideally experience of a parcel or pallet delivery network
* Customer focused
* Hands on, flexible supervisor, willing to take on a variety of tasks
* Occasional multi drop driving when needed.
* Good IT and communication skills
* Clean, full driving licence essential
* Fork lift truck licence is desirable but not essential
* Ability to build relationships with both colleagues and customers

Hours of Work
09:00 to 18:00 although a flexible approach is required as it may be necessary to support or supervise am or pm warehouse shifts from time to time
