Our client provides a range of recycling and waste management services to the construction & demolition, commercial & Industrial and local authority sectors and the general public.

A vacancy current exists for a Transport Planner/Router to play a key role in the time and cost optimisation of the company’s logistics operation. The primary objective of the role will be to ensure route efficiency and effective use of vehicles, facilities and drivers in order to ensure maximum productivity.

In this role you will perform all routing for a fleet of over 40 plus vehicles across the Southwest. You will work in a fast paced environment where the ability to adapt to change to enable order requirements is essential.

Key responsibilities:

* Ensure driver availability and coverage in line with legislation and company procedures to ensure that there is suitable coverage at all times, flexing as necessary to meet volume demands

* Perform administrative duties including accurate input of disposal information, timesheets, tachograph records, holiday rotas and credit query logs.

* Liaison with fleet to ensure effective vehicle resources are available and ensuring safe vehicle operations.

* Supervise vehicle availability on a daily basis ensuring that drivers have completed their checks in accordance with company policy.

* Contribute toward ongoing cost control, actively seeking to improve efficiency and reduce operating cost

Candidate requirements:

* Previous experience gained within Transport Planning is essential – You may have worked as a Transport Planner, Logistics Coordinator, Transport Coordinator or Transport Administrator.

* Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.

This is a full-time, permanent role, Monday to Friday, 42.5 hours per week.
