A specialist in Training Design (TD) is now required within the Maritime Support & Services Business Area of the SEA Maritime Solutions division. This SME will be responsible for conducting all aspects of the Process, with the aim of supporting and growing the training solutions for all of SEA’s maritime products.

What you’ll be doing
The role will involve working with the Training Support Manager (Trg Dev) as part of the newly formed Training Department, and conducting TD work on a number of projects, in order to produce high quality training documentation. This will involve the development of training solutions, which are fully compliant with the Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT) for our UK defence customers, or the provision of training solutions for our export customers, which are tailored to their specific requirements.
- Production of Formal Training Statements, including the development of Enabling Objectives and Key Learning Points
- Production of Assessment Strategies (AStrat) and Assessment Specifications (ASpec)
- Methods and Media Analyses
- Creating Learning Scalars (LScalar)
- Creating Learning Specifications (LSpecs)
- Generating Question Banks
- Conducting Internal Validation (InVal) of SEA-delivered training
- Organising and chairing Training Steering Groups
- Recording decisions and distributing actions
- Liaising with customers and Subject Matter Experts
- Assisting in the production of Bid Documentation
The skills you need
- Fully conversant with the Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT) processes
- Demonstratable experience in the development and successful completion of training course documentation
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications
- Organising and chairing meetings, recording and distributing actions from meetings
- A good communicator with the ability to converse with senior military officers and civilian leadership teams
- The ability to deliver clear briefs and presentations
- Experience in the analysis of training
- The ability to work unsupervised and be proactive.
