Salary: £26,000 per year

Trainee Smart Meter Engineer – No Experience Necessary!

Smart Metering can be a very rewarding career with the potential to evolve into other areas including the EV rollout and progression opportunities into management.

What you will receive:

1. Fully funded training course with accommodation
2. Once qualified you will receive a Level 2 Diploma in Smart Metering
3. Company van, uniform, fuel card and tools
4. Once qualified, ability to earn bonus and push up your earnings towards an OTE of £40,000

Below is the breakdown of your salary from the start of training until you are fully qualified:

1. Starting salary 0 to 19 weeks – £26,000
2. 19 weeks to 52 weeks – £23,000
3. After 1 year – £31,500

​Once qualified, you will be visiting domestic properties to install gas and electric smart meters. You will deliver an exceptional customer experience by ensuring the work is completed safely and tidily, and also ensuring that the consumer has a good understanding of the new meter, including the benefits that smart metering will offer them. To support you, our training package will include everything that you need in order to provide outstanding customer service across all areas.

​All applicants will:

1. Be willing to complete the necessary training to become a Dual Fuel Smart Meter Installer, including the possibility of staying away from home while completing training
2. Hold a full, valid & up to date manual driving license with no more than 3 penalty points, and have not been disqualified from driving within the past 5 years
3. Be able to pass a basic criminal record check, and have no unspent criminal convictions on record
4. Be willing to cover emergency call out
5. Have excellent communication & customer service skills
6. You will also be subject to random drug and alcohol testing throughout your employment.
