Trainee / Assistant Quantity Surveyor

A housing developer based out of Exeter are looking for a Trainee-Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. My client are a FTSE 100 business and one of the largest residential developers in the UK, building new homes and communities across England, Scotland and Wales. They are passionate about the house building industry and about their customers. The main function of this role will be to train the successful candidate in both the company’s overall business plan as well as enhance their learning with regards to the surveying function within the regional business.

Key Responsibilities and duties:

* Provide a detailed cost budget and share with the Site Manager at the appropriate time
* Maintain Schedule of Quantities and price them individually for prime cost budget
* Calculate all costs
* Monitor and explain sub contractor cost movements
* Forecast final accounts
* Attend Pre-Start, Specification and any other relevant meeting as required under the Company’s Operating Framework procedures
* Input and maintain any computer based databases or systems
* Any other duties as required by the Commercial Director
