Position title: Trade Compliance Specialist
Location: Greenford
Working hours: Full Time
Reports to: (Job title) Peter Clements

Ultra Electronics, Communication & Integrated Systems (Ultra CIS) is one of the larger UK based Ultra businesses and is operationally run as four business units: AEP, Information Assurance, Secure Communications and Surveillance & Security Systems. These business units are underpinned by a shared services structure which incorporates finance, HR, operations and communications. Across Ultra CIS we provide encryption, network protection, automated payments, tactical and commercial communications and telemetry systems, covert and mobile surveillance systems and situational awareness technology to defence, public sector and commercial customers worldwide.

Job Purpose:

To facilitate the International trade activities of Ultra Electronics CIS in accordance with all National and International Regulations and controls

Scope / dimensions:

Working within the Compliance department this is a standalone role with support from, Logistics, Sales Order Processing, and Commercial.

Key Responsibilities:

– To be an effective Export Control Manager to ensure compliance with
– UK controls SIEL, OGEL, OIEL and;
– Compliance with US export controls ITAR and EAR
– To have strong organisational skills to become a Data Manager for the correct management of intangible exports
– To host and support external audits
– To negotiate rates with Freight forwarders and couriers to get the best service for a competitive price
– To develop the export control processes within the BMS.
– Establish the standardisation of export processes across CIS
– To produce accurate export documentation (e.g. pro-forma invoices, Carnets, AWB’s) in accordance with international law and internal process.
– To maintain accurate records, logs and files containing export documents and information, that will satisfy the scrutiny of BIS and HMRC audits
– Manage security of information as defined in the Security manual

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

Qualifications:

1. Detailed knowledge and experience of UK export control regulations and processes (OGEL’s, OIEL’s and SIEL’s)
2. Logistics and Supply Chain Degree or equivalent
3. Extensive working knowledge of Spire applications of both F680’s and Export Licences
4. Desirable – understanding of US Export regulations (ITAR, EAR)
5. Desirable – understanding of Letters of Credit
