Salary: £26,000 – £30,420 per year

Job Title:TIG Welder

Your main purpose is:

To weld aluminium alloys using a TIG welding process for a range of material thicknesses, typically from 3 – 20mm.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

BACKGROUND:

DESCRIPTION:

* TIG welding of aluminium alloys to exacting standards and a high quality of finish.

* Quality control is critical, and you must inspect products and ensure compliance to standards.

* Work to the required standards with minimal supervision.

* Undertake good housekeeping to maintain the work area and equipment to the required standards

* Work safely ensuring work areas are free from hazards and that equipment is visually inspected before use

* Work to agreed production targets and complete required documentation such as Work Time Sheets

* Ensure compliance to company rules including requirements for safety, time keeping and attendance

Desired Personal Qualities / Attributes

PERSONAL QUALITIES / ATTRIBUTES

* Minimum 2 years’ experience in TIG welding

* An NVQ in welding fabrication and previous experience working in the Rail or Defence industry are desirable

* Ability to read, interpret and work from engineering drawings of various complexities

* Good communication skills and the Ability to work as part of a team

* Good time and attendance and the ability to work to specification and targets

* The ability to learn new skills and technologies

* Health and safety plus quality control awareness

working Days

Monday – Friday (subject to change depending on business requirements)

Other Shift working may be required. For example, Night-shift Mon – Thur (4 nights)

Working Hours

Dayshift: 7:45 – 17:00 Mon – Thurs, 7:45 – 13:00 Fri

(Total 39 hours of work per week. However, you may be expected to work additional hours depending on business requirements)
