Theatre Manager – Day Case Unit

DRC are inviting applications for the position of a Theatre Manager. This is a full-time position and will be based a private Hospital in Buckinghamshire area.

The Hospital is a day case hospital with two operating theatres as well as Endoscopy and Recovery, offering a range of specialities.

The successful candidate will be able to:

• Demonstrate high performance leadership of the small Theatre team to provide a high standard of individualised patient care supporting the clinical team to provide excellent customer experience, whilst facilitating the best possible clinical outcomes. A commitment to the development of high quality evidence based acute care is essential, combined with the tenacity and passion required to drive success in a rapidly changing healthcare environment.

Your duties will include:

• Provide leadership for Theatre and Endoscopy staff
• Developing excellent working relationships with staff, Consultants, suppliers and key stakeholders
• Provide effective motivation, monitoring and management of the Theatre team
• Build effective controls to ensure the Department’s Key Performance Indicator and financial targets are achieved
• Effectively monitor and manage of all resources available to the Department including operational budgets, workforce planning, efficiency of Theatre lists, etc.
• Provide effective deployment of resources needed to sustain agreed activity levels
• Provide effective management of any records which are required to be kept in accordance with Unit, Company and legislative needs
• Build a solid working relationship with the General Manager and Clinical Lead

The ideal candidate will have:

• a strong clinical background in acute surgical care
• demonstrable leadership, personnel management skills, knowledge and experience
• comprehensive understanding of relevant clinical standards
• excellent communication skills
• sound computer skills and knowledge
• a registered member with the NMC
• immediate life support
• ENB 998 or equivalent
