Test Systems Engineer

Our Client is a is a market leader in the provision of secure communications, information assurance to defence customers worldwide. They are a specialist business designing, manufacturing and supporting electromechanical systems, sub-systems, products and components for defence, security, aerospace and transport applications worldwide.
An exciting temporary opportunity has arisen for a Test Systems Engineer to join our Client’s Communication and Integrated Systems team on a temporary 24 weeks basis. Reporting directly to the Test Systems Team Leader the successful candidate will be part of a team responsible for the development of Production Test solutions in communication systems.

Key Responsibilities

Design test equipment for use during product development, specification compliance testing, EQT, EMC, TEMPEST, ESS & production test stages
Software development using National Instruments TestStand and LabWindows CVI environments. (experience in other c language programming environments will be considered)
Produce automated test facilities where appropriate to simplify or de-skill production test stages or for unattended test stages such as ESS
Produce good quality, informative documentation including Production Test Schedules
Able to influence DFT & DFM during product design
test equipment solutions that are innovative, reliable, fit for purpose, on-time and within budget.
Design, install, commission and maintain test equipment at PCB sub-contractors.
Ability to provide support & training to PCB sub-contractors both on site and remotely
Provide support & training to PCB sub-contractors both on site and remotely

Skills and Experience

in designing both manual and automated production test facilities
Experience of design for test analysis on printed circuit boards and sub-assemblies
Experience with making measurements of RF signals (up to 6GHz)
Knowledge of test software development using National instruments CVI and Test Stand and National instruments I/O cards
Delivery of training and support of test facilities on and off site
