Salary: £720 – £780 per day

Role: Test Automation Engineer

Location: Newbury

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for designing, development, maintenance and execution of automation framework and automation scripts.
  • Collaborate with multiple teams to define requirements and tests.
  • Identify, record and thoroughly document bugs.
  • Responsible for estimating, prioritizing and coordinating Testing Activities
  • Responsible for developing and maintain automated test data
  • Responsible for the timely delivery of different testing milestones.
  • Responsible for the Automation CI/CD Pipeline (development and maintenance).
  • Support in Defect Management process.
  • Responsible for compliance and contributing to our IoT CI/CD strategy

Knowledge and skill requirements:

  • Automation framework development or enhancement experience using Java, Selenium, RestAssured, PageObject Model
  • Scripting experience using BDD in Cucumber for automation of REST, SOAP APIs and Web applications
  • Script execution experience via Jenkins Pipeline
  • Experience in JAVA with OOPs concepts using Maven build tool
  • Testing experience with at least one of the databases SQL, MongoDB, or Elastic Search DB
  • Good understanding of JSON, XML, XPATH, CSS Locators, JSONPath
  • Working knowledge of a SCM e.g., GIT (Preferably), svn or cvs etc
  • Good understanding of testing processes and tools (Jira, Confluence)
  • Work experience in at least one SAFe Agile project
  • Good experience of API Testing using JMeter, SoapUI or Postman
  • Good experience of preparing test strategy, test planning and test scenarios from the requirements and design
  • Execution of test plans/scenarios as per the test plan; update test results in HP-QC or JIRA; Preparing daily status report for the test execution – pass/failed/blocked (highlighting why test cases are blocked with possible mitigation plan and action owner)
  • Analyse root cause of issues highlighted during testing to identify problem areas, reduce errors and to suggest further improvements in the development process.
  • Good analytical, troubleshooting and communication skills ability to raise concerns beforehand.
  • Follow up defects, design gaps with BA, Developers, Solution Designers
  • Passion to learn, improve and adapt even if you don’t know all the above.

Good to Have:

  • DevOps experience in Jenkins (Jobs, pipelines), Unix scripting, Groovy scripting
  • Hands on experience with AWS EC2, AWS S3, AWS CloudWatch, AWS ECR, Elastic Search, Mongo DB, Kubernetes, Docker, Containerization
  • Should be able to contribute individually with minimal guidance and have excellent communication skills
  • Working experience with telecom domain
