Colas Continental Bitumen UK are recruiting Terminal Operatives at their Depot in Avonmouth to undertake all aspects of operating the Avonmouth Bitumen facility ensuring full compliance with all quality procedures and safe working practices, undertaking all work to the highest possible Health, Safety and environmental standard

Main Responsibilities
Your main responsibilities will be to assist the Depot Manager to operate the site in order to ensure the safe and efficient storage and supply of bitumen from the Avonmouth Depot to Continental Bitumen’s customers, be an ambassador for Safety – Ensure adherence at all times to site safety rules and regulations, support the operation of loading of bitumen into customer road tankers, maintaining a professional approach positively reflecting the image of the company at all times, support with site maintenance ensuring full adherence to the Permit to Work scheme at all times and ensuring works are carried out in a safe manner adhering to site specific Risk Assessment & Method Statements.
Undertake any additional duties (for which you are qualified / trained to undertake) in respect of the running and maintenance of the Avonmouth Site required by the Site Manager, maintain and develop good relations with all site personnel including drivers on site to collect bitumen, attend inductions / tool box talks / all appropriate briefings, ensure adherence to all company procedures at all times, have a flexible approach to working patterns and expectations to carry out other duties as deemed necessary to the business, ensure effective time management between duties, completion of required paperwork in line with company requirements and attend training courses as and when relevant to ensure continued development
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have some experience in a similar discipline, working knowledge of Health & Safety, a good work ethic, ability to work within a team, willingness to learn, good communication skills, achievement / results driven, knowledge of the industry, problem solving skills, good written and oral skills, able to demonstrate flexibility and adaptability.
