Temp Employment & Placement Officer

My client is a well renowned provider of employability and training and is recruiting for an Employment & Placement Officer in Bury St Edmunds on a temporary basis. The successful candidate will be working with mental health and learning disability clients.

The majority of the role will be supporting clients who experience mental health issues and some with learning disabilities. In this role the main focus is for the clients to move into work, therefore you will need experience in supporting people back into work.

Key responsibilities

* To identify and develop new employment opportunities within the local area, focusing specifically on individual customer needs
* Support and progress customers in preparation for employment through effective coaching and training methods to help them reach their own goals and objectives
* Undertake initial assessments

Essential criteria:

* Relevant previous experience of working in the welfare to work field
* Good understanding of mental health issues and or learning disabilities
* Proven track record in successfully matching customer to jobs
* Ability to manage and support a number of customers
* Positive attitude towards disabilities and health problems
* Basic in date DBS
* 3 years of work references or checkable work history

Please note: This position is available on a temporary basis for a duration of 8-12 weeks with the possibility of being offered a permanent role. Candidates must be willing to travel inside the designated work area.

Salary: £26,000per year

38 hours a week based in Bury St Edmunds, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm and may also be required to travel to Thetford for meetings.
