Telecoms Field Engineer

Salary: £30,000 – £36,000 per year

Platform Resourcing are currently working in Partnership with a IT Services company who have seen a unprecedented period of growth. This successful company supply a wide range of solutions, including IT, Telecoms, Security Systems, Hosting, Networks and IT Hardware.

They are currently looking to recruit for a Telecoms Engineer to join their Team. The job holder is to be an integral member of the service department. Delivering a high quality, professional service to our clients. This role will involve a range of workshop based and field based work.

Telecoms Engineer Salary and Benefits

* £25,000 to £30,000 p/a

* 25 days annual leave plus 8 day bank holidays

* Company Vehicle inc private use (private mileage charged at 11p per mile). A vehicle allowance may be an option subject to conditions.

Duties and Responsibilities

* Taking ownership of the calls and resolving any client enquiries after a period of training and in line with departmental procedures.

* You will be required to set appropriate expectations and timelines for the resolution of support issues with customers and manage your time effectively to ensure timely resolution and completion of work is achieved.

* The job holder must always represent the business in a smart, courteous and professional manor.

* To provide our customers with technical support for hardware and software issues.

* To work directly with the Service Controller to assist with any departmental projects.

* To deliver outstanding front-line customer service by telephone and remote support to a broad range of clients, taking ownership and resolving queries, escalating where necessary.

* To be held accountable for the satisfaction of your assigned customers.

* To administer and maintain the business’ asset management system.

* To support and train other employees with using internal and external software and business systems.

* To answer client queries in a prompt efficient manner.

* To be proactive in your approach to finding resolutions to customer issues reported.

* To assist with the installation of hardware, mobile devices, telecoms systems, CCTV & Security systems, remote management of PABX Solutions and any other relevant equipment.

* To support other Service Engineers to deliver a high level and efficient service whilst out of the office.

* To ensure that all users are able to use equipment and if necessary, provide training.

* Programming and fault finding on NEC systems, cloud based NFON, Horizon and 3CX telephony equipment.

* Assessing the complexity of an issue and either dealing with it yourself, or escalating if necessary.

* To administer the Telecoms Support portal including logging calls and attempting remote resolutions.

* Liaising directly with the company directors about new technologies and market developments.

* Ensure all client communications (telephone / email / in person) are appropriate, professional and relevant to the task in hand.

* To be aware of and understand COSHH and Health and Safety Regulations and to adhere to them at all times – Be aware of the importance of conformity with the Quality and Environmental Policies and Procedures.

* To look for sales leads. IT Solutions, CCTV, Telephony equipment, Copiers and supplies.

* To pass any sales lead information via email to the Service Manager.

* Recognise the significant environmental aspects and impacts related with your work and the environmental benefits of improved personal performance.

* Recognise your role and responsibilities as defined by the management systems
