Are you ready to be part of an electrifying journey at British Steel? We’re on the lookout for Electrical Technicians to join our team at our Scunthorpe site.

As an Electrical Team Member, you’ll be an integral part of one of our departments including:

  • Rail & Sections Mill
  • Steelmaking
  • Rod Mill
  • Energy & Infrastructure
  • Basic Oxygen Steelmaking
  • Concast.

What you’ll do:

As a member of our dynamic, multi-disciplined team, you will be at the forefront of delivering engineering services to our manufacturing customers. Specifically:

  • Achieve Excellence: Work to meet plant targets, maintain product quality, enhance customer service, and uphold safety standards in collaboration with a diverse team.
  • Drive Objectives: Use your skills to respond to engineering, quality, and safety issues by initiating corrective actions.
  • Detailed Records: Maintain accurate work activity records using appropriate information systems.

What we need to know about you

Qualifications:

  • Hold at least an NVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent in a relevant electrical trade.
  • Alternatively, have completed a recognized apprenticeship.

Experience:

  • Ideally, possess experience in electrical maintenance and fault finding.
  • Particularly valuable is experience in commercial or heavy engineering environments.

Adaptability:

  • Demonstrated adaptability to new equipment is essential.

Commitment to Learning:

  • Display a strong desire for continuous learning and development.

Knowledge of the steelmaking process, while advantageous, is not a prerequisite as extensive training will be provided.
