We have a brand-new Systems Design Engineer opportunity with a rapidly growing and award-winning technology development company based in Northamptonshire who develop and manufacture highly advanced bespoke optical systems used within space and scientific applications.
The opportunity would suit a Graduate / Electronics Engineer or Systems Engineer with skills in both electronics and software engineering, as you would be responsible for the overall electronic system development from initial concept to production which will also include firmware design. You will also be offered the opportunity to complete a part-time PhD in collaboration with a world-class organisation within the space industry. There would be plenty of varied work and the opportunity to grow within the business!
Ideally, the successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:
- BSc / BEng / MEng in Electronics Engineering
- Experience in electronics design, including embedded electronics, digital and analogue circuits
- PCB design and layout
- Experience in schematic capture and part library creation
- Ideally, hardware and firmware design with Xilinx/Intel family FPGAs
- Previous experience or good knowledge of CCD and CMOS sensors would be advantageous
- Awareness of manufacturing processes and standards
- Good communication skills, attention to detail and high level of self-motivation
- Due to the nature of the role and security clearance requirement, British Citizenship is required
