Surgical Ward Manager

Salary: £50,400 – £54,600 per year

A highly experienced RGN with a strong background in surgical/acute wards is required to lead the Surgical Ward within a private hospital in Salisbury.

This facility undertakes a wide range of procedures and specialisms, with a reputation for excellence and high-quality healthcare.

Details of this Surgical Ward Manager and what the hospital is offering:

• A permanent contract to work 37.5 hours per week and shift patterns will include early mornings, evenings, weekends and on call duties.

• An excellent annual salary in the region of £50,400 – £54,600depending on experience

The post-holder will oversee the day to day clinical and operational management of the Ward, effectively managing staff, budgets and resources. You will promote best practices of care are delivered and will participate in Clinical Governance, Audits and investigations when required.

Applicants for Surgical Ward Manager position should meet the following criteria:

• NMC registered Level 1 Adult Nurse/RGN

• Extensive and current experience within a surgical or medical setting in a private hospital environment

• Significant experience within a senior role, being accustomed to working alongside external stakeholders and developing clinical pathways

• Strong clinical skills and knowledge, with good understanding of quality standards and requirements

• Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer care skills and a good standard of computer literacy

• Strong and effective management skills with a positive and proactive leadership style

• Flexible to shift patterns and able to take part in on-call duties
