Support Worker
Full job description
Red 5 People
Salary: £26,000 per year
Would you like to make a real difference to people’s lives? How about joining a large charity that looks after their staff (lots of awards for being a great employer)? What about supporting ex-offenders who have recently been released from prison on a cutting edge new programme?
The programme is based out of a new hub which creates an environment where ex-offenders can attend courses, programmes and receive one to one mentorship to help them develop after release alongside their peers. However, they are at risk of re-offending due to needing extra support, and being further away from the job market. You will be responsible for managing a caseload of clients, assessing them, putting in place an action plan, and then helping them to develop as individuals.
You will deliver information advice and guidance sessions to develop their confidence, motivation and skills. You will also sign post clients to partner organisations which could cover areas such as housing support, employment, drug and alcohol support or debt management. This role would also suit criminology graduates with a little work or voluntary experience in supporting people.
Please apply via this advert. You must have previously worked in a role where you have to coach and mentor people, and have held a caseload. People who have previously worked as a support worker, employment advisor, probation officer, resettlement worker or similar would be a good fit for the role. If you have any questions, feel free to call the office and ask for either Lawrence, James or Ben.
