We have an exciting opportunity available for 2 enthusiasticand committed Support Workers to join us on a full-time, fixed-term contract (Term time only) and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of £21,914 per annum, pro rata.

The Support WorkerRole
As a Support Worker at The College,you will provide comprehensive and dynamic cross-college support for students studying in Business, Tourism and Sport and Construction areas to monitor and support wellbeing and mental health needs to ensure students maintain in education and achieve.
You will also promote and develop expertise of all staff within the college through training, staff guidance and role modelling
Responsibilities as our Support Workerinclude:
- Taking responsibility for managing a caseload of students within either the Business Travel and Tourism or Construction and keeping accurate and timely records, following agreed formats and using college systems
- Developing wider activities to support attendance, engagement and achievement of caseload individuals
- Working collaboratively with all colleagues to support and provide advice, using a multi-disciplinary approach
- Always acting in a way that ensures the respect, dignity and right to privacy of students
- Upholding and promote the College’s vision, values and mission
- Ensuring compliance with all college policies and procedures, as well as relevant professional standards and SEN code of practice
- Participating in the College’s appraisal process and undertaking any training as appropriate
- Attending all relevant departmental, team and 1-1 meetings as required
- Taking responsibility to ensure the health and safety of self and others
- Actively supporting and promote a culture of equal opportunities, transparency and accountability
The above list of duties is not exhaustive and is subject to change. The post holder may be required to undertake other duties within the scope and grading of the post.
As ourSupport Worker, you will need:
- A relevant Level 3 qualification e.g. Psychology/Youth work/Social care
- Level 2 (or equivalent) English and Math’s
- Working with young people who may present challenging behaviours
- Competent in Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to relate to and motivate young people and staff from diverse backgrounds
- A broad knowledge of the issues facing young people in post-16 education
- Knowledge of external support services
- Communication skills including written and verbal
- Ability to communicate effectively with a range of students and staff both on an individual basis and in group settings
- Advanced and demonstrable skills in empathy, understanding and listening
- Ability to develop and deliver person-centred interventions and approaches
- Ability to be able to travel between sites
