Support Engineers Required for Work in Donnington

MPI are currently recruiting for Support Engineers to work in Donnington, Telford.

The Companies main role is to provide strategic in-house deep repair, maintenance, manufacture, modification services and overhaul facilities for Military Equipment and systems belonging to the UK armed forces. The Donnington site is responsible for satisfying this purpose, for which the provision of a wide range of Engineering, Technical, Logistical and administrative support is required. The key purpose of the Support Engineer is to contribute to an effective Engineering support function that fully meets the needs of the Business.
Applicants must have the following Education and Training requirements:-
Recognised relevant engineering apprenticeship or similar accredited training course. Applicants that have previous experience in a similar role will also be considered.
Baan SE Training. Engineering Training Modules.
Required mandatory health & safety periodic training.
Practical experience of mechanical or electrical engineering.
Functional Requirements (e.g. Technical, Managerial, Commercial:- Practical experience of mechanical or electrical engineering, preferably in a MRO environment. IT literacy.
General Responsibilities:

Support Engineers (SE) are accountable to the Technical Support Services Managers for providing all applicable aspects of Engineering support for the current and future Production tasks.
The proposal, development, implementation and maintenance of Repair schemes. Vetting Approved Source Information (ASI) and performing Engineering change control activities. Progressing formal AESP amendment requests (Mod form 10). Progressing requests for Concessions and Deferments. Promulgation of Technical instructions and procedures as required by the Production task.
Maintaining the Engineering standards licensed by higher authority orders and, within the delegated authority for the Company, ensuring all information is issued through the amendment or change control system.
The creation and maintenance of the Engineering database (Baan ERP Bills of Material, Routes and other associated data) required to support the Production task and Business requirements.
Supporting the integrated development and introduction of new service or Engineering capability. Conducting Feasibility studies and initiating procurement activities for the necessary support tooling, equipment, materials, technical information, etc. Liaising with the relevant functional and operational departments to ensure timely development and introduction of the new task.
Complying with Company Policies and Engineering procedures to ensure that the declared quality objectives are met.
Liaising with Engineering authorities, Design authorities, supply managers and other MOD establishments on all relevant technical matters and problems.
Any other tasks appropriate to grade, for which he/she is trained, as required by line management.
There are two vacancies – one is to end 9th May 2014 the other is to end 1st November 2013.
Approx 37 hours per week
£18.13 per hour Limited/£11.95 per hour PAYE
