Supply Teacher

Salary: £108 – £120 per day

Now Education are recruiting for Secondary School Teachers on behalf of a Secondary School in the Warrington area.

The role:

The school are seeking Secondary School Teachers who are interested in flexible part time and full time opportunities.

What does a Supply Teacher do?

The purpose of a supply teacher is to provide effective cover in a range of classes and subjects in response to unforeseen short-term teacher absence, ensuring good order is maintained in the classroom and students keep to task, completing all pre planned work left by the teacher.

Supply teachers may also work on a long term basis within the same school covering a long term absence within their subject specialism. There is often an opportunity to secure a permament role for the right candidate.

Candidates must be:

• Educated to a high standard and present themselves in a professional manner.
• A qualified teacher.
• Genuinely interested in teaching/supporting lessons within school.
• Able to demonstrate an understanding of school expectations for staff.
• Experienced in working as a teacher.
• Experienced managing behaviour and leading groups.
• Willing to be flexible.
• Reliable.

Specific responsibilities include:

• Supervising the students on planned work left by members of the teaching team.
• Assisting in preparing the learning environment and resources.
• Assisting with the management of student behaviour to ensure a constructive working environment.
• Responding to students about the work that has been set.
• Collecting any work completed after the lesson and returning it to an agreed person/place.
• Leaving the room in order at the end of the lesson/day.
• Supervising entry and departure of students in accordance with school policy.
• Recording and reporting attendance at lessons in accordance with policy.
• Dealing with any immediate problems or emergencies according to the schools’ policies and procedures.
• Following school policies and procedures
• Respecting confidential issues linked to home/students/teacher/school work

Candidates will be required to hold an enhanced DBS disclosure and will be subject to safeguarding checks.
