Supply Chain Planner

Supply Chain Planner / Materials Controller required for a permanent position in Trafford Park, Manchester. Salary for this position is £26,000 – £27,600(dependent on experience and qualifications). This is an exciting opportunity to join a global company that is planning significant investment into its plant.

Job Objective: Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager at the Manchester site you will work with suppliers within the Group and externally for local and other UK / Ireland sites.

The successful Supply Chain Planner / Inventory Controller day to day duties will include:

Direct ownership for planning, ordering and expediting of finished goods into UK and Irish warehouses from external and Group suppliers.
Use MRP results from ERP system to ensure suppliers meet requirements.
Proactively manage the finished stock inventory so as to remain within the designed stock parameters and to drive towards zero stock outs and greater product availability.
Improve customer fill rate defining production priorities with suppliers.
Update all inventory parameters – optimising safety stocks and supplier minimum order quantities and maintain accurate MRP data.
Collaborate with sales and marketing on promotional activities and new product developments.
Liaising with the procurement and sales teams to understand and react to fluctuations in demand and material availability.
Clearly communicate pending issues, resolution and contribute to the process development necessary for mitigating future issues.
Teamwork with other supply chain and operations resources on specific projects.

The successful Supply Chain Co-ordinator / Expeditor must have the following experience / characteristics:

Relevant and recent knowledge in a supply chain role
ERP system experience
Stock management familiarity.
Exceptional planning and organisational skills.
Ability to proactively prioritize and manage several projects simultaneously.
Strong analytical, numerical skills and IT skills are essential (Excel, SAP, MRP).
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to work as part of a team as well as autonomously.
Proactive thinker, willing to learn and develop.
Ideally educated to A Level standard or equivalent.

The ideal Supply Chain Planner / Materials Controller will have the following experience / characteristics:

Ability to speak French or German would be advantageous.
Relevant supply chain planner qualification.

Salary & Benefits:-

£18,000 – £23,000 (dependent on experience and qualifications).
25 days holiday plus bank holidays.
