The Role:
Purchasing & Inventory control experience
in a manufacturing environment (electro-mechanical
Relevant commodities include Sheet Metal, turned Metal, PCB Assemblies/Electrical
Knows what good looks like in warehousing & Inventory control
Excellent Negotiation skills& demonstrable track record of managing savings projects
Experience with transition from batch purchasing to Kanban (Supplier Stock Holding/Vendor managed Inventory/Direct Line Feed
SME Experience
of change management / transformation (resilience & people skills)
Able to work strategically (derive and execute a plan) and tactically (keep on top of the day job)
Able to self-navigate resourcefully around a SME to find answers
Able to lead a small team effectively
Fulfil all daily tasks whilst managing improvement & cost projects
3 Direct Reports
2 x Production assistants (buying/scheduling)
1 x Stores person (Goods In, Warehouse/Inventory Management IT literate
Excel pivot tables, charting, filters, formulae such as Vlookup)
Experience of Sage50 or similar ERP packages
The Ideal Person:
•Team player with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
•Proven experience of working within a similar Supply Chain/Purchasing environment, in a manufacturing sector, preferably Electro/Mechanical
•Computer literate – Word and Excel
• MRP, ERP System
