Stores & Logistics Manager – Unique Opportunity to work for a rapidly expanding business
Job Description
Overall control and management of OE, Spares, Repairs & Consignment Stores, Goods Receipt & Dispatch
Ensure all company policies surrounding stock, health & safety, quality requirements are met and improved upon as identified
Identify stock accuracy, obsolescence and invoke activities to address
Develop a fully cross functional balanced warehouse team in order carry out multiple activities.
Develop and manage a perpetual inventory process.
Ensure sufficient resources are in place when necessary to support the business requirements.
Develop and manage budgets in relation to the stores and related areas.
Ensure all parts are delivered to the required level of quality by ensuring all team members understand what is required and are delivering at that level.
Monitor performance against target times on a daily and weekly basis and take action to understand and resolve problems as quickly and as permanently as possible.
Continuously identify and deliver actions to improve efficiency by eliminating and/or dramatically reducing activities.
Establish processes and KPI`s to facilitate timely throughput of materials.
Maintain an up-to-date visual management whiteboard, including KPI graphs of performance against target, weekly improvement action list and any applicable local work instructions.
Provide mentorship, leadership & direction to stores personnel on issues of process & policy.
Supporting operators by troubleshooting and problem-solving. Permanent solutions should always be sought and encouraged whenever possible.
Supporting induction and application of any necessary on-job training, or re-training that is required, including organization of training of apprentices or new trainees.
Promote and encourage Lean Working Practices in the work areas. Implement and constantly demand cleanliness in your areas of responsibility.
Carry out continuous improvement activities within the department
Ensure that employees are able to comply with the Company`s sickness and absence procedures by,among other thing, being available as the first point of contact for an employee phoning in to advise of sickness/absence and signing the self-certification form on the persons return.
Ensure that the Company`s sickness and absence policy is effectively managed by monitoring and reviewing absences, in particular with regard to any work related issues to the absence and reasons for continuing absence within guidelines set down by senior management.
You may be required to work away from home or possibly abroad should the need arise
Person Specification:
Solid experience in a similar role
Excellent communication skills essential
Strong man management and motivational skills
Ability to think clearly and act decisively
Excellent attitude, conscientious approach
Logistics & warehouse management experience
Live within 20 miles of Byfleet
Additional Information:
£40,000 – £45,000 Basic (Dependent upon experience)
Based in Byfleet
Hours: Monday – Thursday 8am – 4:30pm; Friday 8am – 1pm
