Summary
Two brand new roles have arisen for intelligent, hard-working Production Operatives with experience from a regulated production environment. We are looking for people with precision, and attention to detail, who take pride in their work and are happy to be in a Sterile production environment, which means wearing a full protection suit. There are two roles available – one permanent and one for 6 months, with a Salary: £26,000which rises to £16,000 after 6 months. You will work 7am-3pm Monday to Friday, apart from in August, September and October when you will be required to work 7am-4.30pm.
The Company
A pioneering Europe-based Pharmaceutical company specialising in the treatment and prevention of allergies. Their unique focus is on the vaccination and prevention of conditions such as hay fever and asthma, and their groundbreaking work has recently been in the UK press. The company has a very good reputation for having a positive working environment and promoting a culture of team interaction and career development.
The Role
You will be based in the busy Sterile Production area, where a variety of vaccines and other allergy products are manufactured by hand for individual patients. You will receive an order for a particular drug and manufacture it, within a certain deadline, using a range of methods and tools and following strict procedures. Precision is very important because you will be working with small quantities of ingredients and must ensure that the drugs are made to exact specifications in order maximise their effectiveness and patient safety. You must have good hygiene standards, as the whole production area operates with strict GMP and Health & Safety policies and follows Sterile / Aseptic guidelines.
You will spend most of the day on your feet and there will be some lifting (not heavy) involved. Your role will involve manually measuring various substances, using state-of-the art machinery (autoclaves, balances etc) and ensuring that all work in the Production area meets high standards. You will be working in a friendly, welcoming team of people who are genuinely passionate about what the company is doing.
You will work 7am-3pm Monday to Friday, apart from in August, September and October when you will be required to work 7am-4.30pm.
The company will invest a lot of resources in your ongoing training, so they are looking for someone with staying power. Job-hoppers need not apply.
Experience
The successful candidate will ideally have some experience of working in a GMP (or similar) environment, preferably from a Pharmaceutical company (although Food, Cosmetics and FMCG production will be good too). Candidates will also be considered if they do not have GMP experience but can demonstrate excellent precision and attention to detail. You will need to be eager to learn new things – this is not a basic operation role but something that requires strong understanding of scientific principles and the ability to pick up some quite complex training.
You will need excellent communication and team working skills, with the ability to handle your own workload, organise your own time and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Strong competency in English and Maths is essential, and a scientific background would be an advantage (e.g. A-Levels) but is not essential.
