We have a rare opportunity for a Marketing and Performance Analyst to join our strategic marketing team at StepChange Debt Charity. We are looking for a dynamic and data savvy individual that will be able to bring to life how the business uses data. Working closely with the performance marketing manager insight to inform strategic decision making and marketing activity.
Primarily focused on developing and managing a suite of user friendly and effective reports, both regular and ad hoc, you will be responsible for providing analysis and insight into trends, product performance and customer behaviour.

What you will be doing
Preparing and developing regular reports that detail the performance of charity’s services and marketing channels, plotting this against benchmarks and targets.
Gathering data on consumers, competitors, and the market – consolidating this information into actionable reports or notifications.
Identify key user behaviours both on the website and in the wider market that lead to measurable improvements around marketing activity, website experience and customer journeys.
Act as an SME, reviewing current reporting and data sources, to recommend and drive change that improves insight – highlighting opportunities, which in turn drive measurable actions.
Creating dashboards using multiple data sources, i.e. web analytics, data warehouse, etc., utilising packages such as Excel, Google Data Studio and/or Microsoft PowerBI to report on performance metrics
Develop partnerships with internal stakeholders (and where applicable external stakeholders) to ensure that identified opportunities can be efficiently scoped, deployed and measured.

What we want from you
Experience in a similar Marketing Analyst or Research role
Demonstrable experience in defining and measuring performance in an analytics-driven environment
Good understanding of marketing goals, customer behaviour and journeys
Track record of identifying usage patterns and trends in metrics and working to proactively articulate statistical insights as opportunities
Good understanding of customer data and general data principles
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Experience of Google Data Studio and/or Microsoft Power BI or similar packages
Ability to build strong working relationships across a broad range of stakeholders
Logical thinker with strong analytical skills
Sound judgement and ability to operate independently and objectively in a changing work environment
Able to understand complex problems and find creative solutions
Desirable
Relevant qualifications in a marketing, business, statistical or related field
Previous experience using web analytical tools, especially Web Analytics
Experience of Big Query, APIs, SQL and other data integration and extraction tools
Experience of working with the financial services sector and/or FCA regulated environment
