Salary: £48,000 – £72,000 per year
Steelwork Designer
Established for nearly half a century, our client is a specialist provider of primarily Architectural Steelwork and small structures and secondary steelwork. Located in the Leighton Buzzard region, they now seek an experienced Steelwork Designer to front their new Design office and to work alongside their establish Drawing Office of Tekla detailers. £40 – £60K D.O.E.
Steelwork Designer duties:
- Producing steelwork designs to Eurocode/BS standards as required fro Architectural steelwork and small structures.
- Provide moment connection design and technical design advice to internal Drawing Office staff as required.
- Assist with tender design/value engineering as required.
- Attend design, progress meetings as required including job launches.
- Work closely with internal D.O. helping with connection or design queries and checking structural integrity of their work.
Any experience using Tekla structures software would be advantageous, but by no means essential.
Steelwork Designer requirements:
- Previous experience designing structural steelwork frame and/or connection design, preferably working for a steelwork fabricator or associated engineering business.
- Experience designing Architectural steelwork would be an advantage but not essential.
- Designers of varied experience are welcome to apply, but must have a minimum of 3 years hands on steelwork design experience.
- Chartered or non – chartered engineers welcome to apply.
- Experience using steelwork design/engineering software packages is advantageous.
