Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen within a thriving business in Exeter, for a Property Solicitor to join their in-house Land and Housing Association team. The ideal candidate will be someone with experience of working within property law, ideally with some element of Commercial Property background, but with an interest in. In an ideal world, a minimum of 2 years’ experience would be sought, although there will be training offered to people who have similar experience and an interest in this type of work. This is an integral role within the department and is a role that brings lots of responsibility and variation.
Responsibilities include:
Reporting to the Company Solicitor Managerial and Group Solicitor and Group Director of Legal Services, the position will involve but is not limited to:
- Attending meetings in other offices as required.
- Reporting to, communicating with and attending meetings with the Managing Directors and Directors of the regional Operational Companies in connection with legal work being undertaken
- Dealing with Affordable Housing Contracts from instruction to completion for each Operating Companies
- Giving general and specific legal advice on numerous legal issues to Operating Companies across the Persimmon Group
- When necessary, drafting, negotiating and giving advice on Legal Contracts to include Option Agreements, Sale of Land Contracts, Acquisition Contracts, Deed of Easements and Section 106 Agreements
- Reviewing and reporting on title
- Reviewing legal documents and assisting with precedents and procedural advice notes
- Delivering training to legal, sales and other staff as required
- Assisting with developing new methods of working
- Conducting appraisals for others in the team where required
- Dealing with miscellaneous matters
Hours and Benefits:
- 09:00 – 17:00 (or 08:30 – 16:30) Monday to Friday
