Software Test Analyst / QA Analyst

Location: Bristol (would suit those commuting from Gloucester, Bath, Newport, Swindon, Cirencester, Stroud and Weston-super-mare)

Job Description:
Reporting to the QA Manager, the Software Test Analyst will be responsible for the QA and testing of agile software development projects. Responsibilities will cover the complete lifecycle of testing activities, including preparation of test plans and test cases, execution of tests, replication of faults, test reporting, retesting and closeout.

Key Responsibilities

* All types of functional and non-functional testing, including installation and regression testing.
* Production of detailed test cases.
* Execution of tests in accordance with plans and release schedules.
* Set up and maintenance of test environments.
* Accurate reporting of test outcome and issues.
* Replication and documentation of faults found during test runs.
* Contribution to QA improvement projects.

Technical skills

Essential

* A minimum of 3 years software testing experience.
* Experience of testing web based applications.
* Good understanding of structured testing and test methodologies.
* The ability to document test conditions and test cases to ensure suitable test coverage.
* The ability to create and execute manual tests for integration and system level testing for both new products and bug fixes.

Desirable

* Experience of working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
* Experience of querying MS SQL databases.
* Experience of non-functional testing.
* Experience of Automation testing.
* Experience in configuring test environments using VM.
* ISEB Foundation certificate in Software Testing.
* Working knowledge of the Marketing Services Providers space and their requirements.
* Experience of testing Windows based applications in a client/server environment.
