Software Development Team Leader
A leading supplier of IT Solutions is looking for an energetic and proactive Software Development Team Leader to lead the programming team.
As a Team Leader you will oversee development from start to finish. You will develop all technical specifications and be responsible for the delegation for tasks to team members. You will compile all technical documentation developed by the team and manage the overall code development process ensuring high quality, effectiveness and appropriateness of all code.
Responsibilities:
– To develop high quality code for challenging algorithmic back end development
– To help CEO plan and execute the process and delivery of development tasks in a custom Agile framework.
– To help CEO review completed tasks from the development team and hold to a high standard of quality.
– To help CEO manage task delivery timeline and expectations
– To help CEO maintain and apply policies and guidance of development workflow and processes.
– To help CEO allocate work to individuals of the team based on assessment of each strengths and weaknesses.
– To help CEO be a point of escalation for development issues within the team, making sure you are open and available to team members and take ownership of issues raised to you.
– To help CEO carry out a mentoring and coaching role to team members in order to assist in their development.
– To help CEO drive the development and direction of our scientific work in computer science related fields.
Skill/attributes required:
Product development – working on large scale distributed systems architecture
Experience with SaaS model
Team management (Scrum master / Team manager)
Practical experience with the full SDLC
Experienced Full Stack Developer
Understanding of the Agile principles
Experience with DevOps
Experience with Big Data and Machine Learning disciplines
Extensive experience in developing RESTful web applications with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, SQL and/or NoSQL Databases.
Experience within teams focused on developing resilient, high-availability, multiuser, n-tier, scalable, distributed systems.
Experience working with Semantic Search, Graph Databases, Knowledge Representation systems, Machine Learning, and/or Natural Language Processing.
Experience in development on OSx and Linux (esepcially Linux Debian Servers).
Solid understanding of security best practices in software development.
Ability to provide leadership and mentoring to others.
Experience in creating and executing software development standards and QA processes. – Excellent understanding of software version control concepts and tools.
Excellent understanding of Continuous Integration (CI) concepts and tools.
Strong communication skills; able to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Experience of a fast paced working environment.
A strong track record in the design, development and test of significant technical projects in a controlled environment.
