Slitter Operator

Salary: £15.72 – £31.44 per hour

We currently have an opportunity in our client the Print Department for a Slitter Operator working across 3 shifts.

As a Slitting Operative, the role involves operating Slitting Machines which means taking large jumbo master reels and slitting them into smaller reels. There are 4 machines in the Slitting Department and the successful applicant will be expected to learn and run all four machines on a rotational basis, order and maintain materials, inspect production to ensure conformance to specifications, and advise on maintenance issues.

The hours are 37.5 hours a week, over a 3-rotating shift pattern that includes mornings, evenings, and nights:

Monday – Thursday – 8 hours: Fridays – 5.5 hours:

Mornings: 6:00 to 14:00 Monday to Thursday Friday 06:00 to 11:30

Afternoon 14:00 to 22:00 Monday to Thursday Friday 11:30 to 17:00

Nights: 22:00 to 06:00 Monday to Thursday Friday 17:00 to 22:30

Skills and Experience:

· Previous experience would be preferred although, the successful applicant would be given full training in running, maintaining, and changing over the four Slitting machines in the area.

· The ideal candidate should have experience in running machinery.

· An eye for detail and quality.

· The ability to manage their own workflow in a key area, while keeping up with production demands.

· A minimum of grade C or equivalent in Maths would be preferable.
