Salary: £78,000 per year

Site Reliability Engineer required to join forward thinking Technology team of Media organisation to work fully remote or hybrid.

Job: To work on delivering some exciting projects, including migrating their core platform to a serverless architecture and enabling cloud automation and orchestration across other application stacks using Terraform and Packer.

You will join the SRE team and help take their platform to the next level as well as day-to-day operations, monitoring and maintenance to ensure a reliable, predictable and efficient service.

Develop software and provide hands-on technical expertise to design, deploy, and optimise their infrastructure & service delivery, including internal tooling.

Technology: The tech stack is using technologies like C#,.NET, Python, SQL Server, Google Cloud Datastore (NoSQL) and Cloud Functions. They are cloud agnostic and looking to implement solutions based on the best technologies from the major cloud service providers, namely Azure and GCP.

Requirements:

  • A strong working knowledge of SRE concepts
  • Demonstrate hands-on systems engineering, database administration, software development, or architecture experience based on a variety of common technology stacks (Microsoft, LAMP, MEAN etc).
  • Experience of working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
  • Demonstrable experience in writing applications or automating operations tasks with one or more languages (eg Python, C#, JavaScript or PowerShell)
  • Experience working with one of the main cloud providers (AWS, Azure or Google)
  • Experience deploying, supporting and operating production cloud infrastructure within a public cloud environment.
  • Experience with monitoring tools like Datadog, Azure Analytics, Stackdriver etc
  • Good understanding of Application security – OWASP Top 10, storing credentials etc.
  • Experience managing deployments and infrastructure with Infrastructure as code and configuration management (e.g. Terraform, Cloudformation, Ansible)
  • Experience creating and/or maintaining production software delivery pipelines using common CI/CD tools (e.g. Jenkins, Azure Devops, Gitlab, Cloud Deployment etc)
  • Understanding of network troubleshooting including IP fundamentals, Routing, DNS, load balancing, proxies, WAF, firewalls and DevSecOps practices.
  • Driven, with a positive attitude, and an ability to be pragmatic
  • Expertise in problem solving and analysing complex distributed systems
  • Have a drive for self-improvement and learning, including learning new technologies.
  • Excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Salary up to £78,000 depending on experience, plus discretionary performance related bonus. Additional allowance paid weekly whilst on-call.
