Salary: £30 – £36 per hour
Site Engineer
Reports to: Senior Site Engineer/Contracts Manager
Job Summary
Responsible for effective and efficient delivery of engineering activities that meets the needs and objectives of Construction projects, with responsibility for accurate and timely site setting out, surveying, measurement and control together with ensuring comprehensive records are captured for the project.
Key Responsibilities
* Adhere to all issued technical drawings, health and safety documentation and project method statements
* Deliver all engineering / setting out / levelling requirements as per agreed programme and specification
* Ensure that all quality processes are adhered to on-site together with ensuring that specific paperwork is returned to the office in an accurate and timely manner
* Effective engagement and supervision of subcontractors where required
* Work alongside the Site Supervisor / Foreman, Project Manager and Contracts Manager ensuring the project conforms to the client’s requirements and that any anomalies are highlighted and resolved
* Work closely with the client to ensure that their expectations are met or exceeded
* Ensure that any variations to the drawings are identified and that these are highlighted to the Contracts Manager in ensuring variations are captured and additional costs are recovered from the client
Knowledge
* Surveying and setting out methodologies and practices
* Infrastructure, Groundwork’s and Civil Engineering technologies and techniques
* Health and Safety & Environmental knowledge
* Knowledge of AutoCAD, 3D and Survey software
Skills and Abilities
* Excellent surveying skills and abilities
* Deliver and set our projects to time cost and quality
* High attention for detail
* Pro – active, organised and hands on approach
* Problem solving, self – management and people skills
* Adapts and responds to change
* Maintain appropriate records on the project and communicate commercial status of the tasks for which they are responsible
* Ability to build sustainable and professional relationships with their teams
Experience / Qualifications
* Strong proven background within Civil Engineering
* Within groundworks, infrastructure, and highways
* Preferable, not essential. Degree or equivalent qualification within civil engineering
* Health and safety knowledge / understanding
* Valid CSCS and SMSTS card
