Salary: £36,000 – £44,400 per year

Nicholas Associates Engineering & Manufacturing are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Site Engineer. My client is a leading manufacturing business based in South Yorkshire who provide engineering solutions across a wide range of industry sectors

Sector: Capex projects, welding and fabrication, installation and commissioning of process plant, steelmaking, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering

Location: Based Barnsley and the majority of projects are in the Yorkshire and Humber region but occasional travel further afield may be required

Salary: £36,000 – £44,400according to experience

Overview of the role:- a facilitator, a co-ordinator who make sure that projects run to time, to budget and to the highest standards of health and safety. The role will involve some tie being office based and some time being spent out in a client facing role on customer sites

Academic requirements:-

– You should ideally have a strong Mechanical Engineering background ideally educated to Degree level or relevant industry experience. However a reasonable understanding of welding, fabrication, installation and commissioning of medium to heavy process plant is required

– Method statements
– Risk assessments
– Health and Safety
– Ensuring availability of labour, machinery, tools and anything else needed to complete a project

Self-motivating and able to work on own initiative –
Flexible in approach and energetic
Team player and team builder with strong leadership traits
‘Can do’ attitude – “Hands on” where necessary
Trouble shooting & problem solving skills
IT skills (with development support)
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings –
Numerate with understanding of costs (with development support)
Driving Licence
Comfortable producing basic drawings in 2D/3D CAD – Desired
