SIMS Software Consultant
Capita SIMS Independent provides Management Information Solutions for UK and International Schools. Our SIMS software is used in a growing number of schools and is now used in over 600 establishments. SIMS Independent Professional Services is responsible for delivery of income through the sale and delivery of hardware, technical services, training and consultancy.
With over 20 years’ experience of the delivery of consultancy and the development and delivery of training, our services enable schools to manage student and staff information across all areas of school life including registration, finance and payroll, timetabling, registration and assessment.
JOB PURPOSE
To provide a range of consultancy and training services to UK and International Independent schools on the development and most effective use of SIMS software.
LOCATION
South of Birmingham – in or around M3/M4/M40 or the M1 or North London
** International and UK wide Travel and overnight stays away from home are an essential and necessary part of this position.**
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Advise schools on effective use of SIMS and other software, to facilitate effective school management and development.
Develop ways of extending the usage and scope of SIMS and administrative software in schools.
Tailor training and consultancy on specified software for individual schools’ requirements to facilitate effective software usage on site
Deliver training courses on a variety of software, to schools in order to maintain and extend the software user base.
Install SIMS Software and setup databases for new schools in UK and overseas.
Support new schools in migrating from previous systems.
Development of training materials, update training materials in specific subject areas.
Maintain an awareness of appropriate educational issues in order to sustain credibility with customers
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE / SKILLS
Educational / FMS experience including working in a school environment
Proven experience of using and/or training in across a range of SIMS applications (including finance, registration, admissions, timetabling and assessment)
Practical Teaching/training experience
IT awareness and good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
Awareness of educational issues
Experience in a consultancy/technical role. For example ICT, Software Support, Professional Services
Strong written and verbal communication skills with a good level of spoken and written English
Strong time management & organisational skills
Experience in working with customers both over the phone and face to face, demonstrating good judgement and ability to manage customer’s expectations
Driver’s license essential
