Job Description

In return, we offer a salary of £27,108 plus 22% Shift Allowance (£5,963), up to 3% Bonus (~ £813), Company Pension, Sick Pay, Overtime, and Benefits Catalogue. Plus, we’ll support your further development, if that’s something you’re interested in!
Total package at the time of joining: £33,884.

 

What will I be doing?

You will be responsible for contributing to the safe, environmentally compliant, effective and efficient operation of the Energy Recovery facility. This will primarily include mixing / feeding waste to the furnace and waste bunker management, working to maximize plant output, through:

  • coordinating waste deliveries vehicles with some traffic management within the Energy Recovery facility
  • conducting and coordinating the removal of waste residues (Bottom Ash)
  • Conducting the effective execution of 1st line and planned/preventative maintenance activities as required
  • Maintaining the operational function of the plant by conducting plant inspections, checks and analysis with prompt operational fault diagnosis and rectification, as directed by the shift operations teams.

You’ll promote a safety conscious attitude, through safe systems of work and accurate and timely reporting of incidents, communicating and reporting with the site management team to ensure effective relationships are developed and maintained. This will help ensure that all operational, financial and business targets are met.

The Shift Pattern- 12 hours shift basis, both, days, and nights- equivalent of 37.5 averaged and annualised hours. Great opportunity with time off in between the shifts! (4, 5, and 12 days)

 

What are the requirements?

Ideally having worked in an energy from waste or similar facility, you must be able to demonstrate relevant operational experience in an industrial environment, and have:

  • an applicable mobile plant qualification
  • a good approach and knowledge of health and safety, ideally holding IOSH or similar
  • computer literacy and knowledge of basic software packages (Word, excel etc.)
  • a valid driving licence for this role.
