Due to even more significant investment in the business over the next strategic period, we have a new role for a Services Sales Manager who will be responsible for growing the business, building a solid pipeline of new opportunities and executing a sales plan within Industrial and Municipal sectors.
This role offers the flexibility of remote work where you will be covering the UK, with some international travel.

What is the focus of the role?
The Services Sales Manager will be responsible for growing the business, building a solid pipeline of new opportunities and executing a sales plan within Industrial and Municipal sectors.
Your product is Mobile Water Solutions, Build-Own-Operate (BOO) Projects and Asset Care Services. As well as sales to new customers, you will be looking after current clients and helping their business to grow.

Working directly with the Services Growth Leader UK & Ireland, you will be working in an international and highly stimulating environment, with frequent interaction with team members both in the UK and overseas.
You will be part of a diverse functional team, which includes, Project management and Delivery, Commercial Operations, Products & Standards, Technical Centres of Excellence, Operations, Asset Care, Mobile, and Corporate.

Success will be drawn from your own high level of motivation, persistence and sales-oriented drive.

What does the role look like?
There are 2 key areas that you will be involved in:

Commercial

  • Prospect, develop, lead & close opportunities in the defined geographical area & markets,
  • Building an understanding of Veolia Water Technologies and Solutions’ products and resources
  • Building an understanding of your customers’ needs, and qualifying leads
  • Working closely with the Commercial Supporting functions to provide competitive solutions to drive the sales cycle of Veolia Water Technologies & Solutions specialist services and Asset Care projects.
  • Identify marketing activities of particular interest throughout the UK & Ireland and act of them
  • Work closely with other business units and external partners to develop sustainable  solutions to the challenges facing the UK & Ireland Industrial and municipal water sectors.
  • Develop strong professional relationships with internal and external key influencers.
  • Encourage strong engagement with Account Managers and assigned geographical Area/Territory Managers and industry Vertical Leaders.
  • Engage with growth team and vertical leaders to understand future mobile water industry trends & needs to support future development of relevant offers, etc
  • Foster commercial relationships and build gravitas to be the ‘go-to’ person for mobile water solutions, regarded as a leader in the industry when customers consider shutdowns, expansions, trials etc.
  • Develop and manage a pipeline of business opportunities to ensure forecasting accuracy and uphold sound account management principles
  • Achieving ongoing sales growth and profitability targets selling the full portfolio of Mobile Water and Services in partnership with the Account Management Team.
  • Support the company’s campaigns and gather market information.
  • Eminate Veolia’s Ecological Transformation message, delivering solutions to solve the world’s most difficult challenges.

Technical & Project Development

  • Act as an expert (technical and commercial) in the market for growing the Veolia Brand as an Industrial and Municipal water solutions provider.
  • Develop opportunities in the UK & Ireland, by solving critical issues the Industries are facing around water treatment matched with an understanding of the Veolia Water Technologies & Solutions products and solutions to solve these.
  • Proven knowledge of selling services solutions in an industrial environment (long term service agreements, Asset Care, Expert Guidance, etc).
  • Promote digital monitoring and Veolia Water Technologies & Solutions Insight technology.
  • Assisting Project Managers and delivery teams in the preparation of bidding/execution hand-over procedures.
  • Proven expertise in water treatment for the Industrial and/or Municipal water sector will be a plus.
  • Understanding of pipework sizing, flange types, valve types and a confident general water system engineering principles is advantageous.

What experience and skills would we like you to have?
Bachelors or Masters Degree in Chemical, Mechanical Engineering or other relevant technical discipline and/or relevant business qualifications (i.e. MBA)
Solid experience in the sale and development of solutions-based services to municipal or other relevant customers – ideally within the water sector but other industries are relevant
Experience working with complex contracts and customer organisations.
Some experience of bid preparation and contract negotiation.
Networking, influencing and team building/player skills, capable of working within a globally diverse team across different time zones
Proactive, creative, self-motivated, goal-oriented, strong analytical skills and financial acumen
Ability to speak effectively with groups and customers, clients, and team members
Able to energise, motivate and drive multi disciplinary teams, which are not direct reports.
Strong negotiator and able to work with senior industrial leaders, top management and their technical and operational staff
Full UK driving license
Self-motivated, able to drive projects to completion, while demonstrating significant problem-solving ability with an unfailing dedication to deadlines
Strong customer focus with a penchant for account management
An understanding of water technologies and processes that operate in municipal and industrial settings
