SENIOR RESIDENTIAL CHILDCARE SUPPORT WORKER
Full Time/Permanent – 39 hours per week
Unqualified salary
without Level 5 Diploma ยฃ27,576 per annum
Qualified salary
with Level 5 Diploma ยฃ28,184 annum

We are currently looking for Senior Residential Child Care Workers to join our services inย Pontefract, West Yorkshire.

Main responsibilities:
ยท Complete key domestic duties on a day-to-day basis that ensure a homely environment is maintained
ยท Encourage the development of individual interests and attitudes by planning, organising and participating in activities
ยท To promote, safeguard and protect the welfare of each young person in accordance with Working Together to Safeguard Children 2018. To assess individual needs and contribute to care and risk plans.
ยท Establish and maintain positive and trusting relationships with the young people
ยท Manage behaviour positively and assertively by working in line with specified care and risk management plans
ยท Consult with young people to promote the development of a healthy lifestyle
ยท Motivate and assist young people in developing and sustaining positive networks with adults and peer groups, including families
ยท Participate in the development, implementation and review of packages of care through team meetings, supervisions
ยท Attend, and where necessary advocate for the Young Person, in child care reviews
All applicants must have:
ยท Understanding and commitment to the role, which is is 24/7, including weekends and bank holidays. Undertake sleep-in duties as part of flexible rota.
ยท Experience of supporting young people who may be vulnerable is essential
ยท Be capable of working on their own initiative to a high level of accuracy, maintain clear, neat records
ยท Have good inter-personal skills, and be a positive team player
ยท Computer experience to an intermediate level
ยท The ability to complete daily records to meet statutory and policy requirements.
ยท Empathetic nature
ยท Have good oral and written communication skills in a variety of contexts
ยท The ability to engage, motivate and encourage young people
