Senior QA / Test Analyst – World Leading Software Solutions

My client are an award winning, IT Software Solutions group providing a blue chip client base with world leading ‘Green IT’ Solutions.

They currently have a requirement for a Senior QA Analyst to join the London office, where you will form an integral part of their development process and be responsible for determining the quality of our software, following an agile development methodology.

Job Summary

You will be involved early in the project lifecycle, working with the development team to ensure requirements are understood and met, and actively participate in daily/iteration meetings.

You will be responsible for the production of test plans, scripts and reports, and for the execution of manual and automated testing.

You will be actively executing test scripts and responsible for defect reporting, replication, impact analysis and verification. You will also be expected to provide metrics as to progress and software quality.

You will be expected to review artifacts and results produced by team members and mentor accordingly. You will be responsible for reporting test activities/progress to the wider business.

You may be required to allocate and monitor test activities for other team members in addition to your day to day role.

Key Experience / Qualifications

Essential:

– Educated to degree level or better in a relevant subject (Computer Science/Computing/IT). You must have a 2.1 degree or higher.

– Proven commercial experience in a Lead/Senior Test position

– Practical experience in Agile testing methods

– A good understanding of Windows operating systems such as Windows XP/Vista/Windows 7/Windows8/Windows Server 2003/2008/2012.

– ISEB/ISTQB qualified

– Experienced in working on SQL Servers, XML.

– Basic coding skills in an Object Orientated programming language

– Experience executing and investigation of automated tests results

– An understanding of relational databases

Desirable:

– A good understanding of Windows technologies such as Active Directory, System Centre

– Experience in working on virtual environments

– Experience in working on MAC OS/Linux

Experience in leading a test team is an advantage

Experience using scripting language (Powershell, VB)
