Senior Policy Planner – Town Planning

Carrington West’s dedicated Town and Country Planning Recruitment Team operate UK wide and we are delighted to be assisting our client with their search for a Senior Policy Planner to join a fantastic Local Authority in the South East on an initial 6 month contract.

The Role

To contribute to the authorities planning policy department to deliver a customer focused and efficient service that ties in with the council frameworks and assists in achieving objectives in the development, corporate and service plan. To work towards the preparation of the LDF and related policies.

Duties

·Review and update Planning Policies
·Assist in the preparation of the planning policy and providing supporting documentation and evidence including; providing policy advice, attending consultations and other meetings, preparing reports for committee and government consultation responses
·Supporting the Policy Manager with providing advice and repots to other related divisions
·Assist in continual review of service
·Be aware of council health and safety and related policies

Expertise

The successful candidate will have a relevant degree and be Chartered or undertaking post qualification experience of the Royal Town Planning Institute – RTPI. Experience of Town Planning, ideally within a Local Authority and be a strong communicator.

Qualifications

Due to the nature of the role the successful candidate will hold a degree in Town and Country Planning and a post graduate in Town Planning related subject and will be eligible for membership of RTPI.

Salary -Circa £30per hour DOE
