MacArthur Recruitment is working on behalf of a successful IT, Telecoms and Services company who, due to internal promotions, are looking for two, ideally senior level, IT Support Engineers to join their Support team.

Within this position you will be working within a team, supporting clients both remotely and face to face, playing an integral part in the organisation by providing technical support for hardware and software.

A lot of their business has grown naturally through recommendation and as a result of expansion within a satisfied customer. Ideally they are looking for someone with good broad and deep knowledge who enjoys working with and helping customers; along with having a passion for technology. Most of your role is carried out from the offices in Carlisle, however some customer site visits are required – a pool van is provided for these.

Career development and further technology training are also on offer. The skills listed below are the ideal case however there is some flexibility and some further training can be provided.

For the role of IT Support Technician your skills need to cover some or all of these, although training can be provided:

* Networking – TCP/IP, etc.

* Microsoft Exchange 2007 – 2019; Windows Server 2012 – 2019

* Windows 7-10

* Office 365, Microsoft Teams

* VMware, Firewalls (WatchGuard or others)

* Anti-Virus (ESET or others)

* Cloud storage (Azure or others)

* Active Directory

* Good previous experience in an IT Support role

Responsibilities and other skills ideally required for the role of IT Support Technician:

* Excellent phone manner and customer care – genuinely care about the customer

* Proactive monitoring of IT systems

* Instal and config of hardware, software and IT Infrastructure

* Diagnosing system errors and other issues

* Help desk and incident management

* Ensure IT support processes are followed and documented

* Troubleshoot, appropriate problem solving and ensuring IT issues are being dealt with effectively, and to the customers satisfaction.

* Providing onsite and remote support

* Independent and team working

* Open to challenges

* Able to keep calm under pressure

* Clear communicator

* Passion and enthusiasm for learning new skills and technologies

* Sharing of knowledge

* Inquisitive and analytical

* Drivers license.
